Dollie Ethel Cheek Hensley Strunk, 90, of Wallins Creek, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2009.

She was born in Rose Hill, VA on December 23, 1918. Mrs. Strunk was a homemaker and believed in the Holiness faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James Edward & Hattie Cheek. Husband, Troy Strunk. Two son: Donnie Bee Hensley & Herbert Barnett Hensley. One grandson, Luther L. Byrd Jr. Four sisters: Myrtle, Emliy, Nanette & Vertie. Brothers: Haskell, James, Boyd, Tobe, Odes, Orb, General, Carl Ray, Hascue, John, Henry & Floyd.

She is survived by three children. One daughter, Alberta Hensley Byrd, of Coldiron, Ky. Two sons: Ronney Ed Hensley & wife Pat, of Chiefland, FL. And Jesse Barnett Hensley & wife Margaret, of Wallins, Ky. 15 grandchildren: Penny Lee & husband Steve, of Wallins, Ky. Ginger Turner & husband Paul, of Coldiron, Ky. Tammy Andrews & husband Chris, of Meridian, ID. Cozette Smith & husband Malone, of Fort Worth, TX. Bonnie Byrd, of Baxter, Ky. Burley Brent Thomas, of Lexington, Ky. Eddie Hensley & wife Colleen, of Fayetteville, N.C. Judy McFarland & husband Mike, of Winchester, Ky. Vickie Pebbles Long & husband Steve, of Chiefland, FL. Donnie B. Thomas & wife Amy, of Evarts, Ky. Mylena Hensley, of Evarts, Ky. Bradley Mullins & wife Heather, of Kenvir, Ky. Jessica Sousa & husband Brian, of Baxter, Ky. And Remington “Moon” Hensley, of Wallins, Ky. Two sisters: Lillian Seipp & husband Paul, of Maryland. And Kathleen Partin, of Middlesboro, Ky. Also surviving are 24 great-grandchildren, & 13 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends also survive.

Visitation for Mrs. Strunk will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the funeral following at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Houston Officiating.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery of Keith, Ky.

The great-grandsons of Mrs. Strunk will serve as pallbearers.
