Reba Sue Brock, 61, of Wallins, departed this life on Saturday, July 17, 2010 in South Carolina. Reba was born at Mary Alice, KY on June 13, 1949. Her family moved to Leslie County where she spent most of her childhood. She returned to Harlan County in the early 1970’s where she and her husband raised their own family. Reba was a homemaker and a member of the Kentenia Full Gospel Church.

She loved children and enjoyed being around them. She worked as a substitute teacher and teacher’s aide at the Wallins Elementary School and several other area schools. Reba also enjoyed reading and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Reba was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar Asher and Marie Campbell Asher; and a brother, Roger Asher.

Survivors include her husband, William D. Brock, Wallins; a daughter, Heather Brock Cornett, Wallins; a son, Kelvin Brock and wife Connie, Russellville; four grandchildren, Daniel Stewart and wife Kristen; Ariel Brock; Cameron Cornett and Jesse Cornett; a brother, Jimmy Asher and wife Beulah, Salem, VA; two sisters, Patsy Hoskins and husband Farmer, Somerset; and Martha Robinson and husband Dennis, Harlan; and a special sister-in-law, Loretta Belcher and husband Rick, Harrogate, TN.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 9 pm Tuesday evening (July 20) at Harlan Funeral Home, and after 11 am Wednesday at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday (July 21) at the Kentenia Full Gospel Church with Pastor Ed Houston and Bro. Greg Abraham officiating.

Burial will follow at the Park Howard Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
