The Rev. Park
Saylor, 92, Pathfork, passed from
this life on Thursday, Nov. 29,
2007, at the Pineville Community
Hospital.
He was born July 26, 1915 at
Foresters Creek, KY to the late
Austin Saylor and Katie Eads
Saylor.
He was a resident above Pathfork
most of his life. Rev. Park was
convected and called to the
Christian faith when he was 15
years of age on Sept. 17, 1930
and received the gift of the Holy
Ghost on Oct., 1, 1930. Saylor
preached his first sermon on Oct.
15, 1930 the Middlesboro on
Cumberland Avenue.
On May 15, 1935, he married his
wife of 60 years, Alma Oma Jean
Hollifield. He was a retired
U.M.W.A. coal miner.
There were countless thousands of
people saved, baptized, healed,
set free and delivered. The sick,
blind, crippled and the dead
raised through his ministry. He
moved and operated in the Gifts
and callings of God as he
traveled for 78 years in
evangelizing.
Rev. Saylor was an extraordinary
man of God, he was a prophet,
counselor and a faith believer.
He studied the Bible two-
and-one-half to three hours per
day, and was a great inspiration
and very much loved and
appreciated. He was an anointed
and powerful prayer warrior. When
he prayed for the sick, they
received their miracles from
Jesus.
Brother Saylor
sowed the seed of faith of God
into the hearts of people. He
always witnessed to sinners,
warning them of a coming
judgment.
He was a chaplain at the Bell
County Forestry Camp at Frakes.
Words cannot explain what a man
of faith he was and what he meant
to the Body of Christ.
The family will receive friends
from 6 to 9 p.m. today and all
day Saturday at the Arnett &
Steele Funeral Home in Pineville.
Funeral services will be
conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home with the Rev. Eli
Craig, the Rev. Jim Gibson, the
