Overtine
went home to be
with the Lord on May 8, 2007

He was a dear
Brother in our Church who had
worked very hard to help us raise
funds when building our new
Church.
He is going to be missed by all
of his Brothers and Sisters in
the Church and all who knew him.
We love you Shelby Overtine.

Shelby Overton, 81, passed away
Tuesday May 8, 2007, at
Middlesboro Appalachian Regional
Hospital. Born March 2, 1926, in
Bell County, he was the son of
the late Arthur Overton and Mile
Teague Overton. He was a member
of the Kentennia Full Gospel
Church. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death
by two brothers, Albert and
Clarence Overton; one sister
Thelma Tirsy; and his first wife
Jerry Overton. Survivors include
his wife Christine Overton,
Middlesboro; son Denny and wife
Carolyn Overton; stepson, Andrew
Sturgill; stepdaughter, Rebecca
and husband Richard Bailey;
grandchildren, Khrisma Lee
Carter, Brian Henson, David
Henson, Christopher Francois,
Tracy Elliott, A.J. Sturgill and
Patricia Sturgill;
great-grandchildren, Brianna
Henson, Makinley Hanson, Sidney
Elliott and Ace Elliott. Two
brothers, Frank Overton, Oscar
(Phyllis) Overton, both of
Pineville, KY. Six sisters Hazel
Baker, Sue Hubbard, Maxine (Jack)
Hall, Iva Lee Reynolds, Edna
(Clarence) Rutherford, and
Juanita (Ralph) Evans all of
Pineville; brothers and
sisters-in-law, Dave and Geneva
Zachary, Rubin and Wanda
Eldridge, Leonard and Wilma
Golden, John and Cora McHague,
Kenny and Mary Sue Helton, Jack
Rhymer, Rufus Rhymer, and Kathy
Rhymer; and a host of nieces,
nephews and other relatives and
friends. Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Friday at Creech
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Ed Houston, and the Rev. Shelby
Money presiding. Burial will
follow the service in the Green
Hill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be James Asher,
Michael Rutherford, Anthony
Overton, Richard Bailey, Jerry
Day and Wayne Prater. Family will
receive friends from 6-9 p.m.
Thursday at Creech Funeral Home,
Middlesboro, which is in charge
of all arrangements.
He will be truly missed by
all.
